We joined the Sarcoidosis Winter extravaganza

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Sarcoidosis (pronounced SAR-COY-DOE-SIS) is a potentially fatal inflammatory disease that can appear in almost any organ in the body. Although the lungs are affected in more than 90% of patients, the disease often attacks the heart, eyes, central nervous system, liver and kidneys. Once thought rare, sarcoidosis is now known to be common and affects people worldwide. The cause remains unknown and THERE IS NO CURE.

There is alot of information on the internet, only most of it gives you this rose colored glasses view of whats going on with patients who have it.
Sarcoidosis sometimes is not always easily diagnosed.
Most have multiple trips to the ER, sometimes your brushed off, labled as a drug seeker, or seen as a hypocondriack.
A SHORT VIEW FROM SOME GOING THROUGH IT:
I could go this week or I could go a few years from now, who knows. But I can't help but to admit that over the last few months I've secretly wished that God would just take me. And that wish for God to take me grows stronger everyday.
I have "Neuro-Sarcoidosis", the initial problem was that I was losing all feeling from the waist down, took about 3 weeks. They found a Granuloma in my spinal cord .
I never wanted to stop working. I was successful ,Cushy job. good money.... lost my eyesight due to the sarcoid had to quit and go on permanent disability.
I get so tired...no energy that I am afraid to lay down fearing that I wont wake up.....
the spleen is growing - Pressure is tough, Hard to eat, nearly impossible to get a REAL breath, most exercise is a painful joke and I am up and down all night with the pressure to visit the restroom..... I dont know that I can wait for "remission" cuz its not certain that I will be at that point soon or at all - I have Lung & Airway, Spleen & Lymph system involvement, impacts to my Liver and my Heart as well
Both my cardiologist say I have cardiac sarc. I also have sarc in my lungs, spleen, lymph nodes, neuro, feet/ankles, and joints.
i have read everything there is on it so i know the facts but every day it is like another part of my body seems to have a problem

OPERATION SQUEEGE : TOMORROW STARTS!
Finally the great day! It's tomorrow :) I was hanging around and took some pics of the event place.

All proceeds from your purchase of the hunt items today will be donated to the National Wildlife Foundation to aid in the cleanup of the gulf oil spill of the coast of America.
Items included in the hunt are:
~*~ Operation Squeegee necklace. A thick dark metal chain holding a large blue stone pendant encased in black woven metal spikes. Embedded into the stone is the Operation Squeegee Logo.
~*~ Gardeners Musical Hat. A slouchy style top hat with garden bed perched on the top. Garden comes complete with a family of two snails and a baby turtle. The hat is scripted so that when you walk it plays a cute little musical tune.
~*~ Snorse to the Rescue (1 blue and 1 pink hidden seperately). A Snorse is a Snail/Horse. A large snail bred for riding. Harnessed and with ridable animation. Just wear and walk/run.
~*~ Turtle Huggies. A smallish turtle that can be placed in the home or garden. 'Sit' on him and you'll lay down for some Turtle Huggies time together.
~*~ Large Garden Turtle. This large dopey looking fellow is great for hiding among the grass in the garden. Makes a perfect little resting spot when you 'sit' on him. Great for photos.

HUNTS, HUNTS AND MORE HUNTS !
Now we joined the Winged Key Hunt. This isn't a grid hunt, but a sim hunt.
We are in a Harry Potter themed sim, so what about a change color hat?
The funny part in this hunt is the way the hunters look for the keys, they have to ride brooms:)

~ Operation Squeegee - July 1st to 15th ~
Now I'm an adult. Guess what kind of work i choose? I'm an environmental engineer :)
Last year i asked to a professor about this kind of oil spill accident, but I wasn't really happy with his answer. He said there are a lot of safety barriers to avoid them, but if this kind of accident happens, he really didn't know how to stop it, but it never happened in Brazil.
Well, it didn't happen in Brazil, but it happened in Mexico Gulf.
Our planet is just one and the Earth doesn't support anymore what we, intelligent humans beings do.
We are devastating our planet, our home to consume more, to have more goodies....what more? Happiness?
Peace? Love? Not at all, these kind of thing we can't buy.
As we can't stop the spill, let's help to clean the sea ! Help the sea life as well. It will take a long time to recover the ocean balance, but we can help.
Let's join the Operation Squeege! It's Second Life helping Real Life.
Funds raised through Operation Squeegee will go to The National Wildlife Federation. Funds that are donated to the federation will support the following efforts:
* Development and deployment of the National Wildlife Federation’s Gulf Coast Surveillance Teams, a volunteer network that is being organized to monitor the coast for wildlife impacted by the oil spill. Beyond the initial surveillance needed, this effort will then shift to long term volunteer restoration programs.
* Restoration of vulnerable nesting and breeding grounds, as well as other delicate ecosystems found throughout the Gulf Coast for water birds, sea turtles and other animals.
* Public education about the oil spill and its impacts on wildlife, including our online efforts at www.nwf.org/oilspill and informing the press and others about the impacts the oil spill is having on coastal communities and wildlife.
* Policy work at the national and state level to support restoration of habitat in the Gulf Coast and better protection of our waters and coastlines.”
We all live in this beautifull blue little planet. We aren't the landowners.
